Description

This traditional smoky Lapsang Souchong Black Tea is originated from a natural tea garden in Tongmu Village at a high altitude. In this quiet mountain ecosystem, the over-60-year-old tea trees scatter within the bamboo forest and grow on rocks. Produced with a craftsmanship of more than 400 years, the tea presents a classic fragrance of pine smoke and a flavour of longan soup. The three important processes of authentic Lapsang Souchong including withering, drying and secondary roasting have to be done in “Qinglou” ("green lofts" – wooden houses where tea buds are withered and dried.) so that tea leaves can fully absorb the aroma of smoke.

More mature tea leaves are picked for production. The dry leaves are dark and glossy, emitting a strong scent of smoke. Brewed by boiling water, the golden-yellow liquor is bright and clear, with an aroma of pine smoke thoroughly seeped in. It tastes sweet and fine, with a subtle aroma of honey and longan, and a strong woody flavour. Enduring long infusions stably, its last few infusions are still sweet so that you could taste its persistent notes of sweetness and coolness.
